Grandma's Feather Bed

John Denver

Ton : DEnglish
When ID was a littleG bitty boy
JDust up off the fA7loor
We uDsed to go down to GGrandma's house
EDvery month eA7nd or sDo
We'd have cDhicken pie cGountry ham
HDome-made butter on the bA7read
But the bDest darn thing about GGrandma'a house
Was the greDat big feaA7ther beDd
It was nDine feet high andG six feet wide
SDoft as a downy cA7hick
It was mDade of the feathers of forty-lGeven' geese
Took a E7whole bolt of cloth for the tA7ick
It could hDold eight kids and foGur hound dogs
And a pigDgy we stole from the shA7ed
We didn'Dt get much sleep but wGe had alot of fun
In GraDndma's feaA7ther beDd
After supper we'd sit around the fire
The old folks spit and chew
Pa would talk about the farm in the war
And Grandma'd sing a ballad or two
I'd sit and listen and watch the fire
Till the cobwebs filled my head
Next thing I'd know I'd wake up in the morn'
In the middle of the old feather bed
(Refrain)
Well I love my ma I love my pa
I love Granny and Grandpa too
I been fishing with my uncle I wrestled with my cousin
And I even kissed Aunt Lou Ooh!
But if I ever had to make a choice
I think it oughta be said
That I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road
For Grandma's feather bed
(Refrain, 2x)
