He asked me to marry and be his sweet wife

And we would be so happy the rest of our life.

He begged and he pleaded like a natural man, and than,

I worked mighly hard and so did my wife,

With corn in the fields and wheat in the bins and

Our children numbered just about four

And they all had sweet hearts knocking at the door.

They all got married and didn't hesitate, I was

Now we are old and ready to go

We get to thinking what happened a long time ago.

We had a lot of kids, trouble and pain, but
