Suggest a strumming pattern
Show how to strum the song: a window lets you build the pattern in a few clicks, no notation skills needed. It is reviewed like any correction.
Go through a correction
The pattern is part of the song, so you suggest it as a correction. On the song page (find it with the search at the top of the page: “Title or artist…”, or ⌕ on a small screen), click “✏️ Suggest a correction”, then continue with or without an account (see Suggest a correction).
Open the strumming window
Put the cursor at the start of the song, then click the arrows icon, “Strumming”, in the “Rhythm” group of the toolbar.
Tools are arranged in groups; hover an icon to see its name and what it does. Build the pattern
Choose the “Time” (4/4 for most songs) and the “Tempo (bpm)” if you know it, then click the cells: each click goes from nothing to ↓ (down), ↑ (up), × (chuck) and then rest. On an arrow, “Accent” and “Muted stroke” add their mark. The preview below the grid shows the pattern as it will be displayed.

Click “Insert”: a line such as

Once approved, the pattern shows up under the song title in rhythm notation: arrows, beams and beat numbers.

Remember: a new song, a correction, a strumming pattern and a comment all wait for a moderator’s approval. Only the star rating is saved right away.
