Write lyrics and position chords
The editor uses ChordPro, a plain-text format: lyrics are written normally, and each chord goes in square brackets, right before the syllable where it is played. No need to learn it by heart: the tools write it for you.
The [G]itsy bitsy spider climbed [D]up the water [G]spout
[G]Down came the rain and [D]washed the spider [G]outOne chord, two brackets, one syllable
[G]itsymeans: the G chord falls on “it”. When the chord changes in the middle of a word, split the word:a[G]gain. All common forms are recognised:Am,D7,Cmaj7,F#m7,D/F#.Insert a chord without typing it
Put the cursor before the syllable, then click the “Add a chord” icon in the “Chords” group. Type the chord name: the window spells it out underneath (“D 7” for D7, “A minor” for Am) so you can catch a typo. “Insert” places it at the cursor.

Type the chord name, then “Insert”. Pick from the palette
Above the source, the “Chord palette” offers the chords already used (“In this song”) and the ones that belong to the key (“Key of G”: G, Am, Bm, C, D, Em…). One click inserts the chord at the cursor.
Check the fingerings
The “Chords in this song” icon opens the list of chords played in the song, each with its diagram. Click on the fretboard to fix a fingering, then “Keep these fingerings”: that is the fingering musicians will see.

Every chord played, with its fingering. Paste a song from elsewhere
Does your version have the chords on a separate line above the lyrics? Paste it, then click “Convert the whole text” in the “Tools” group: each chord joins its syllable. Then read through the preview.
Preview and source stay in step
Click a chord in the preview: the editor selects it in the source. The other way round, the line where your cursor sits is highlighted in the preview. Handy in a long song.
